Regardless of the customized ROMs that offer something more, both in terms of design and performance, compared to the factory ones, we have learned to love the MIUI because its customization meets the needs of most users. Obviously not everyone is satisfied: every day we receive comments and complaints about something that could be improved (even for a long time actually). Despite the love we have for the MIUI skin we have to prepare ourselves for say goodbye to two applications, since the Xiaomi sold outside of China will have installed the Google's "Phone" (dialer) and "Messages" app. One step back or one step forward?
Xiaomi smartphones will have Google's "Phone" and "Messages" apps
To announce it is not a rumor, but a official press release through Mi Community. If it had been news from an unofficial source, it would have been better as it was probably not reliable. Instead we have to resign ourselves to the app "Messages" and "Telephone" will be replaced by equivalents made in Google, with all that entails.
Le ROM MIUI they are generally adapted to the needs of the regions where Xiaomi devices are launched and sold: we have the China version, global version, EU version, Indian version, Indonesian version and Russian version. Apparently, all the devices that have been and will be launched globally after Mi 9T Pro (including him), will integrate the two apps in question, then dialer and messaging, by Google and no longer those pre-installed made in MIUI. All of this is due to privacy laws and restrictions around the world: these devices will use now Google Mobile Services (GMS) a group of APIs designed to guarantee smartphones an exceptional user experience from the first use.
Yes, this is true but those fond of the MIUI interface will miss it, from the first use: in particular we will suffer for the'non-existence of the feature that allows us to record calls, at least for a first moment since from the hallway rumors, too Google will endeavor to implement this feature on their system in 2020. Note that the next devices like Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro they will arrive with this news or they will receive (maybe) an update that will disable MIUI apps by putting new ones on Google.
After giving you this unpleasant news we ask you a question: the smartphones that will come out, in particular those of Xiaomi, will tend to be sempre more approved to Google phones? What do you think and above all do you agree? Write it in the comments!
Very disappointed with this decision which I don't understand. What does "legal grounds" mean as Xiaomi's two phone and message applications are illegal? For call recording? So every time you talk on the phone with some organization or company or telephone service provider and they tell you that the call will or can be recorded? Is there no privacy violation in these cases? That is, if I record a call is it illegal, if a company does it, isn't it?
I am personally very disappointed that my Mi 9T Pro does not have call recording function. I found it very useful. And to think, that existed in the old Redmi note 4!!
Xiaomi a disappointment ... I bought a MI 9T PRO and then I discovered that it does not have the xiaomi dialer and does not record calls ... I gave it to my mother to not keep it as a paperweight and I went back to the MI 6 by deactivating the updates. Goodbye Xiaomi: like all the loves of my life, you too are finished :)))))
Very disappointed by this decision ... Xiaomi homologates to the general flattening, removing two very useful peculiarities on my behalf.
If they do what they say in the article we might as well switch to Apple. For me who never remember anything and am never in a position to take notes during a phone call, the recorder application is essential. ☹️😡
I wanted to replace my 5+ but in light of these "adjustments" I will certainly continue to use it
I restored the old Redmi Note 7 that this function (for me who don't have a lot of useful memory) still has it. And I take care not to make updates so as not to see it disappear!
I meant: and I'm careful to make updates
savez-vous yes le POCO F2 PRO disposed of this function of registration of the appel
Sorry, I would like to know if the regular Mi 9T, the Mi 9 and the Redmi Note 8T still have the two Xiaomi apps, including the call recorder, and if there is a possibility that they will be replaced with the Google ones by the new updates.
At the moment the two models still have proprietary apps. It is not sure, but not excluded, that they will be replaced in the future.
Xiaomi has a plan B in case of US ban - MIUI Italy
https://www.miui.it/2020/01/06/xiaomi-piano-b-ban-usa/ here from this article we understand why xiaomi has dropped the breeches to google
I do not think it is a problem of these two apps, at least as regards the recording of calls, they could "move" it in the settings as they have asus, i vivo, meizu but at the moment only seen with android 9, so it is assumed that, the restrictions of google are really "killers" of this function which in the opinion of many is also a choice to buy xiaomi here. Then if we add the "scarcity" of devices with good ability to take a picture, without counting the radiations that emanate, we add the lack of video output from type-c, now with this flaw we will make a reason, and... Anyway I have a Xiaomi Mi note 2 that does not make updates anymore, So I'm calm 😜
I have had MI9lite for 2 months and it already is. An emerita mink.ata! Precisely for the aforementioned reasons ... ..
They would make me want to take the Redmi 5+ out of the drawer, damn them!
They should find a way to allow the choice of one or the other at least….
It seems strange to me that they take off the call recording.
But putting the xiaomi.eu beta resolves itself because it is made on the basis of Roma China.
Well… I know… but you have to root the phone and every time you have to update the ROM are two balls…. I took the MI9lite for the unlocked Api2 (and the GCam) and I find myself a cell that doesn't even look like Xiaomi ...
