After weeks of rumors, leaks and official teasers, the day has finally arrived for the presentation of the new Xiaomi CC series, the one dedicated to young people who do not want to compromise. The new line includes three devices: the Xiaomi CC9, the Xiaomi CC9e and the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition.
Let's go then to find out what the features of these three smartphones are and how they differ from each other.
Xiaomi CC9, CC9e and CC9 Meitu Custom Edition officially presented
Let's start with the flagship device of the new series, the Xiaomi CC9. The smartphone adopts almost the exact same design as the Xiaomi Mi 9 presented months ago at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona but with some minor changes. The biggest difference is in the colors, the CC9 is in fact available in a new white color called "White Lovers", as well as in Blue Planet and Dark Prince (black). The branding on the back also changes, the "Mi" logo has turned into "Xiaomi", but it doesn't end there. The new writing is in fact backlit by LEDs that light up in case of incoming calls, music playback or other.
Moving on to the specifications instead, the Xiaomi CC9 equips an 6,39-inch AMOLED screen for a screen-to-body ratio of the 91% and with the fingerprint sensor below. The latter is then of seventh generation just like the one on the Xiaomi Mi 9T, faster and more precise than the one on the Mi 9.
To run the new device we think a good Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, assisted by 6GB and 64GB 128GB internal memory.
The cameras on board the Xiaomi CC9 include three rear cameras from 48MP, 8MP and 2MP, with the first having the excellent Sony IMX582 sensor. While the front camera has a resolution of 32MP.
The smartphone is powered by a large 4030mAh battery with fast 18W charging for a fairly low total weight of 179 grams and 8,67mm thickness. There is no shortage of NFC chips, 3.5mm audio jack and infrared ray emitter.
We are now going to see the most compact and economic smartphone of the new CC series, we are obviously talking about the Xiaomi CC9e. The device comes with the same design as the older brother but with a reduction in size. The CC9e has in fact an 6,088 inch screen always of the AMOLED type with HD + resolution and consequent fingerprint sensor below.
The cheapest CC9e is equipped with a Snapdragon 665 processor (for the first time on the market), accompanied by the 4GB to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal memory.
The cameras remain unchanged, so we will have a main sensor from 48MP, secondary from 8MP and a third from 2MP, Alle selfie will take care of an 32MP camera.
The Xiaomi CC9e is also powered by an 4030mAh battery with 18W fast charge support. No NFC for this device.
Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition
Finally, we have the real fruit of Xiaomi's collaboration with the Meitu brand, namely the Xiaomi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition. This last device is actually not very different from the basic CC9, but with some tricks that make it more interesting for women. The factor that according to Xiaomi and Meitu will transform it into a must-buy for girls is the new coloring in Pink White, or a white with pink shades.
But the feature that especially the Chinese girls will appreciate is probably the photographic software created entirely by Meitu. Meitu is indeed a brand famous for its immense portfolio of algorithms to improve the "beauty" of girls. This includes the face of course, but also other parts of the body such as legs, torso etc. For these reasons, Meitu smartphones have had great success among women in previous years.
Going to the specifications instead, these are identical to those of the Xiaomi CC9, if not for the amount of RAM and storage, available only with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal memory. It also changes the packaging, smaller and girl-friendly compared to the official CC9 package and a more “feminine” MIUI interface.
