Did Xiaomi lie to us about charging at 120W? Is it really that powerful?

The last few years have been full of news in the field of recharging. Not only Xiaomi but also other brands have set to work to bring to the market a technology that is so powerful, but at the same time efficient, that is, that does not waste too much energy during the charging process. Oppo for example, it has in the forge a new generation technology that allows recharge a smartphone wirelessly from a distance. Lei Jun's brand, for its part, focuses on wireless charging but also on the 120W cable. But will the latter really be that powerful? It seems like no

A recent experiment shows that Xiaomi Mi 120 Ultra's 10W charging is actually not that powerful: the maximum power reached is 80W

The Eurobursar Android Authority has recently carried out an experiment that he saw as the protagonist Xiaomi mi 10 ultra, the new device of the brand full of muscles. It is actually the most powerful device ever built from the Chinese company: hardware and software are perfectly balanced as it should be (cit.) and the performances are excellent. From his has a peculiarity: it is the smartphone that supports the more powerful cable charging (it's fast) in the world, or 120w. This on paper, but in reality? Apparently not.

In fact, according to what emerged from the study of American colleagues, the maximum power reached by the charger and therefore the one that the smartphone received is approximately 80w. Well 40W less than the rated power that the brand boasts. Now, this is not to say that Xiaomi actually lied to us. We got to see that 120W is the maximum voltage peak reached under ideal conditions, i.e. in the laboratory. For ideal conditions we mean, for example, a cold smartphone, not stressed, in an environment with the right climatic conditions, etc. Probably the device used for this experiment did not meet the above characteristics.

No blame for the brand therefore (in our opinion) as in fact the recharge can reach 120W, But not always. In optimal conditions, both of the environment and of the smartphone, the power is full, while in everyday conditions it is not so. Data in hand according to the Android Authority experiment Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra starts with an input of 92.3W, drops to 86.4W and stabilizes at 80W throughout the period.

Users you have purchased My 10 Ultra: have you done this experiment? Let us know how your device is doing!
