Xiaomi, dizzying growth in 2020 within the EMEA zone | IDC

Who would have thought that Xiaomi would it grow that much in a year like the past one? The international smartphone market in particular, however you want to see it, has suffered from the downturn caused by the coronavirus. However, the data shown by IDC show that of all the major companies, Lei Jun's was the best in terms of shipping. The published report poco fa takes 2019 and 2020 as a reference: one notices growth in shipments that we never dreamed of. Let's go see the data.

Xiaomi grows relentlessly: shipments to Europe, the Middle East and Africa have increased since last year even in the presence of the virus

It is no secret that Xiaomi is the third brand in the world both in terms of annual growth and shipments. But to be honest we weren't expecting that Counterpoint and IDC communicated these numbers. The first analytics firm put the brand in second position, behind only realme which has seen 4-digit growth; IDC, on the other hand, puts the Chinese giant in first position, with a considerable difference compared to the second and third brands.

xiaomi growth in europe, middle east and africa 2020

As we can see, in fifth place in the IDC ranking there is Xiaomi, that it sold 41.1 million smartphones in 2020 against 24.7 million in 2019. But what is surprising is not so much the volume of the year itself, but the difference between the two years; the 66,4% more, which was the best growth of the company in the EMEA region (Europe, including Russia, the Middle East and Africa). If the trend continues like this, by the end of 2021, the Chinese company could very well rise in the ranking by several points and reach the first place among the companies in the world.

In addition to this data concerning our favorite company, there is also another very important one: the average price of smartphones. IDC analysts report that compared to last year the average price of Android smartphones in Europe is dropped 8,5% to $ 278. Most likely the "Redmi strategy”(That's what I want to call it) it's working: good smartphones at low prices.
