Xiaomi about to launch a new 1999 Yuan terminal (250 €)

Some really interesting rumors come from China today. Apparently, in fact, the electronics giant Xiaomi is about to launch a new smartphone with a price that has a special meaning for the company, we talk about the price range 1999 Yuan, ie about 250 €.

The special meaning is due to the fact that Xiaomi has grown a lot thanks to the devices sold around the 2000 Yuan, but due to the increase in the cost of the components, could no longer offer their fans. This should change towards mid-September, however, according to a famous Chinese digital agency that evaluates the technology market in the Asian country.

The agency is in fact sure that Xiaomi is about to launch a terminal that until now has probably not appeared in any indiscretion and that could be a cross between the Xiaomi Mi 8 and the Xiaomi Mi 8 SE. At 2000 Yuan, this device would cost more than a Mi 8 SE (released at 1799 Yuan) and the top-of-the-line Mi 8 (initially launched at 2699 Yuan).

This news comes in a very special period, as the next top of the range with borderless design, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, is really close to the presentation, suggested for October by the boss of Xiaomi in person - Lin Bin. Furthermore, the Xiaomi Pocophone F1 has just launched with a price tag starting at around € 320, so it's hard to see why anyone would buy a slightly cheaper smartphone (it will probably be found online for around € 270), when you can buy a smartphone. Pocophone F1 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 top of the range processor with other high level specifications.

To date, we can only speculate that this phantom 1999 Yuan phone arrives with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, a design similar to the Mi 8 and Mi 8 SE and with maybe a few more gems such as a fingerprint reader under the screen, which not only would it make it a must buy for those who want to try this technology without emptying the bank account, but would put Xiaomi back in the game with competitors like Vivo, which in this period is equipping different terminals with in-display sensors. What do you think?
