Xiaomi in Wonderland, could be the real title of this article as India has always represented the goose of the golden eggs in terms of records and sales for the Chinese company. And so after celebrating the country's 1000th Mi Store, the road to reaching the 10000 store target by the end of this year doesn't seem so impossible. A colossal undertaking, considering that in these remaining 8 months of 2019 the Xiaomi India real estate development team will have to increase the number of Mi Stores tenfold throughout the Indian territory. Over 2000 jobs have now been generated in 19 Indian countries, reaching a market share in offline business of 20%.
We have been the first smartphone brand in India for nine consecutive quarters and our market share in the online smartphone industry in the country is above 50%. The scale of online market share growth is now limited, so we are focusing on expanding our offline presence in style.

Xiaomi India will arrive at 10000 Mi Store by the end of 2019
In addition, the Indian CEO adds that by the end of the year the goal is to reach 50% of its smartphone sales through offline channels. Xiaomi India was a brand recognized exclusively online up to two years ago, but the rapid expansion has begun to lay the foundations for a decidedly profitable collection. However, the Mi Stores must be differentiated from the Mi Home, the latter operating in the metropolitan areas of the big cities and decidedly larger in terms of space and products available.
The number of 10000 Mi Stores or better retail stores will be reached also thanks to the launch of new formats of commercial establishments, such as Mi Studios, currently inaugurated in the cities of Bangalore and Mumbai with an average size of 400 / 600 square meters. Mi Studios will soon reach 200 altitude. All this will allow Xiaomi to maintain its leadership against Samsung, which in the 2018 saw a total of 28,9% market share to the Chinese company.
We are learning from other brands like Samsung and Vivo to expand our offline presence in the country. In total, counting tAll four retail channels, Xiaomi currently has a total of around 6.000 retail stores in the country.
