Xiaomi today announced that it has acquired a 4,7% stake in Westhouse, a Kingsoft-owned online gaming company.
The participation in the gaming company has cost Xiaomi a figure that is around 20 million dollars. Xiaomi has, probably, the goal to expand the field of action of the game producer to those for smartphones and Android, of which then Xiaomi will be the exclusive distributor.
No wonder Xiaomi is investing in Kingsoft, especially if you consider that Xiaomi's current CEO, Lei Jun, has been Kingsoft's CEO for some years before embarking on his mobile phone adventure.
