Xiaomi today announced that it has acquired a 4,7% stake in Westhouse, a Kingsoft-owned online gaming company.
The participation in the gaming company has cost Xiaomi a figure that is around 20 million dollars. Xiaomi probably has the goal of expanding the gaming manufacturer's field of action to include those for smartphones and Android, of which Xiaomi will be the exclusive distributor.
No wonder Xiaomi is investing in Kingsoft, especially considering that the current CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, was for a few years the CEO of Kingsoft before starting his adventure in the world of mobile telephony.
