Just yesterday we told you about one smart lock that thanks to a fingerprint sensor manages to open the door without the need for keys. Well, what do you think if we tell you that now you do not even need hands? Ok, the hands always come back useful, but they are no longer "necessary" to open a door equipped with the Xiaomi Loock CatY system.
The Xiaomi Loock CatY system consists of a front camera that is positioned on the door and facing outwards, then connected to a control unit in the form of a tablet that makes it smart and connected to the internet.

The strength of this system, which up to here has nothing different from many bells equipped with a video camera, but on the software side. The Catock Loock is in fact able to recognize faces thanks to algorithms, can understand the age of a visitor, sex, what he is wearing and other characteristics. He does all this to be able to present to the landlord a better use experience, suggesting who is behind the door even before activating the video feed.
The camera itself is made of a super wide lens with 166 degree viewing angle, a sensor that can shoot video to 720p and night mode with infrared lights to see even in the dark.
As for the brain in tablet form, it consists of a display with a diagonal of 7 chickens and a resolution of 1024 × 600, so not one of the sharpest, but we don't have to watch Netflix on it, a bit of a shame since it has a 8400mAh battery for up to two months of autonomy, there is also 4GB of internal memory to store videos.
Finally, we specify that in order to unlock the smart lock (to be purchased separately) you still need authorization via the app. This system is in fact designed primarily to make guests easily enter the house, while those who live there faster with the fingerprint reader on the handle.
