The latest series of the top of the range of the brand, or the series Xiaomi Mi 10, is one of the best successful. Not just because it is powerful as few, but also because it managed to to combine this power with a very sober, elegant style, without giving up the fashions of the moment. These fashions, however, can be more or less shared: especially the choice of curved screen did not drive many users crazy, especially here in Europe. This morning a user shared his experience on Weibo: entering one of the many Chinese Mi Stores he came across (intentionally) the brand's new smartphone. He was clearly amazed since he didn't expect it to be so beautiful, but still made a small note to the company saying that maybe, those curved edges could have been avoided. The CEO confessed very quietly and not at all controversial because the Mi 10 series has this type of display.
Lei Jun, CEO and patron of the company as you see explained one of the fundamental reasons why the smartphone has this type of front panel:
"One of the biggest advantages of the curved screen is the thickness of the device".
Probably this answer will be obvious for most of you readers, but not for all it is so. If we go to see the device measurements (but in reality it is enough to see the average of the high-end devices) it has one thickness of well 8.96 mm. Now, take an example iPhone 5, with a basically square design, without curved edges: would it be nice to bring a 1 cm tile like that with you?
