Xiaomi recently announced the expansion of its End-of-Life (EOL) device list, ending software support for over a dozen smartphones under the Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco brands. Although it may seem like an unexpected decision, it is actually part of the common practice of smartphone manufacturers, who offer software support for a limited number of years, regardless of whether it is a low-end device or a top-of-the-line one.
Users with devices on the EOL list are now faced with a choice: continue to use their current smartphones, aware of the risk of incurring vulnerabilities security or compatibility issues with newer apps, or consider purchasing a newer model to continue receiving software support and protection.
