Following the presentation of the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, several brands have decided to announce what their contribution was in creating the new super flagship of the Chinese brand. One of these brands is Omnivision.
Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra: The main image sensor is manufactured by Omnivision
The famous image sensor manufacturing company has in fact just revealed on the Chinese social network Weibo that on board the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra we find a 48 megapixel OV48C sensor produced at home. This 1 / 1,32-inch large optical sensor uses Omnivision's PureCel®Plus chip stacking technology, which can deliver high quality images and great performance in flagship smartphone videos.
Omnivision also specified that the OV48C is a high definition image sensor equipped with the DCG HDR function and can simultaneously provide 48 million pixel resolution with a 1,2 micron pixel size. All very quickly and with a high dynamic range.
So Xiaomi seems to have decided to equip its Mi 10 Ultra with many components developed in the Asian country, also as regards the cameras that usually see Sony or Samsung sensors. Sensors that we still find in additional cameras such as the ultra wide-angle one that sees a Sony IMX350 with a resolution of 20MP, a 5MP Samsung S2K7L12 sensor for the telephoto lens (2x optical zoom) and finally the famous (from flagship) Sony IMX586 sensor with resolution 48MP for the periscope lens camera.
Please note that yesterday two other brands had communicated that they had collaborated with Xiaomi. In particular we have TCL Huaxing which provided an OLED panel exclusively created for the device, with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a touch sample rate of 240Hz. While the optical and ultra-thin fingerprint sensor under the display was produced by the Chinese brand Goodix.
