If you are a technology lover you will already know that yesterday Apple held the first autumn conference in which it presented several new products, some hardware and other software. But what has most talked about is certainly the new generation of iPad Air with the new high-performance Apple A14 chip on board with a 5nm production process.
Xiaomi Mi 20 will adopt the Snapdragon 875 with 5nm production
Why do we talk about it on XiaomiToday? Well, simply because today Lu Weibing, the general manager of the Redmi brand, went to Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) to anticipate something very interesting. Lu Weibing in fact wrote: “Are you looking forward to trying new products based on 5nm processors?”. Now, it doesn't take a genius to understand that Redmi's general manager is clearly suggesting Xiaomi has 5nm chip devices in store.
This chip can be none other than the next Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 of which we reported a couple of days ago. The new processor should in fact be adopted by the future Xiaomi Mi 20 (or Mi 11) early next year, and then also arrive on the flagships of the Redmi brand.
That said, the South Korean technology giant, Samsung could have an exclusive with the chip maker since they will be physically producing the Snapdragon 875. SoC that we remember should introduce a new architecture with a combination of super large cores, or Cortex X1 with Cortex A78. In addition, the new generation 5G modem will be integrated into the SoC, so as to improve performance and reduce consumption at the same time.
Returning to Xiaomi, or more precisely the Redmi sub-brand and its product director of the brand, Wang Teng, revealed that due to the limits in production capacity (due to the epidemic), the supply of 5nm processors next year will be very limited, which could mean that the number of devices produced will also be reduced and prices soared.
