Xiaomi Mi 5X: First Photographic Hand-On
In the world of technology, days look like months and months and so seems like an eternity from 26 July, the day when Xiaomi presented his We 5X, a really appetizing smartphone with the features at a really unbelievable price. We can without doubt say that the Xiaomi Mi 5X is a cheaper alternative to iPhone 7 Plus and has the same dual photographic form seen on the Xiaomi Mi 6 at Wonderful Price 1499 yuan, about 190 euro.
From today 01 August the new device is available for sale at the Chinese markets and soon we will see him landing on the more classic stores we are used to and delivering shipment to Italy, so it's best to begin to do some knowledge through this little hands-on.
Unboxing
The smartphone is packaged inside the classic white box very simple and with the logo I located at the center of the front confirming the mid-range band to which the device belongs. As traditionally always on the front we find memory cuts dedicated to RAM and ROM while on the packaging side we find the name of the model. Finally, on the back of the sales box, you find the general information and the main features. Inside we will find in addition to Mi 5X also one user guide, charger, USB Type-C data cable and pin for removing the SIM carriage.
Hands-On
From the first glance given to Xiaomi Mi 5X we do not notice big differences compared to the current Redmi series, in fact the front is virtually inherited from the Redmi family where they are iconic the three drawn buttons on the underside of the frontal body which does not give a premium look to the device. We would have expected a Home key with integrated fingerprint module instead of the three touch buttons as the Mi 5 series is characterized by this.
On the bottom profile we find the door of Type-C charging input, the grid comprising the system speaker, the main microphone,jack input from 3.5 mm, while the top profile only hosts the infrared transmitter and the second noise reduction microphone.
On the left profile we have it SIM slot with Dual Sim support or memory expansion via Micro SD. On the other side, we have the volume bar and the on / off button.
Frontally we find the classic sensors but is moved outward rather than in the classic position between earphone capsule and front chamber.
Until now we have undoubtedly got a full RedMike style design just move on the curves and finishes of Mi 5X to find similarities to the Mi series. Starting from the back we find one scratch-resistant coating which completely covers the metal body that seems to have undergone one sandblasting and anodizing process making the Mi 5X slightly slippery.
Needless to deny it, but Xiaomi Mi 5X's design is based on the 7 Plus iPhone, though the finishes seem to give a better effect than Apple's home. However, we can not deny that we find further similarities in the photographic segment that is double in the back as it seems copied also the design of antennas. Finally, the thickness of Mi 5X is equal to only 7.3 mm with a weight of 165 grams and will be available in 3 color variants that are black, gold and rose gold.
Specifications
We recall that the Xiaomi Mi 5X belongs to the mid-range band and integrates one Full HD display from 5.5 pollicwith 2.5D machining. Frames on the corners of the body are also rounded to reduce accidental shocks. Under the bonnet we find the tried and tested processor Snapdragon 625 who fits perfectly with the 4 GB of RAM memory and 64 GB of internal memory . A CPU that has tossed the nose to many but that undoubtedly turns out to be efficient in terms of energy consumption as well as being highly optimized on a general level.
For a very popular smartphone the strong plate is definitely the dual rear camera that is to have one primary module identical to that of Xiaomi Mi 6 and secondary module assigned to the Samsung ISOCELL S5K3M3 sensor. Maybe the shots will not be up to Mi 6 as the focal opening of Mi 5X turns out to be a f / 2.2 that will result poco in line for the classic point and shoot or in low light conditions, while the front camera from 5 megapixel which results highly optimized for selfie and portrait fashion.
But Xiaomi Mi 5X is also equipped with one 2X optical zoom, 10X digital zoom, real-time blur mode, and beauty portrait mode 3.0. You can also record video UHD to 4K / 30fps and video in slow motion from 720p / 120fps.

Xiaomi Mi 5X comes with the new MIUI 9 interface on Android 7.0 base with support for connectivity 4G LTE. The battery is a drive from 3080 mAh of which at present it is not possible to give benchmarks of duration or other. We recall that the Xiaomi Mi 5X will be on sale today at the price of 1499 yuan, equivalent to about 190 Euro with possibility to pre-order the new smartphone via Gearbest, GeekBuying, and BangGood stores starting with 26 August, 15 August and August 10 respectively.
The keys designed if we could spare them, I hope at least they are backlit. You never understand Xiaomi's commercial policy. It is evident that it responds exclusively to the demands of the Chinese market. Here was the fingerprint reader in front of all life…. low battery… ..we hope for a better redmi note 5 than this, remaining in the mid-range, and at least an SD 630.
