The skills of the developers is amazing when it comes to older devices, even if when it comes to talking about new devices, things get complicated. We saw yesterday how it is possible to install a whole Linux-based operating system on a smartphone such as Xiaomi Mi 6; it was possible to install also Windows 10 on the same device. Despite this the arrival of a Standard ROMs like MIUI 12 are tricky. But beyond that the developers managed to install the operating system of Microsoft on Xiaomi Mi 8. But how will it turn? Let's see it together in the video.
A titanic undertaking that has succeeded however: install Windows 10 on Xiaomi Mi 8 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor
News from China a few hours ago sees a glorious as the protagonist Xiaomi Mi 8 that manages to run (we will see how) the operating system Windows 10 from Microsoft. In short, what are the hardware characteristics of the smartphone: processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 with Adreno GPU 630, 8 GB of RAM maximum and maximum memory supported 256 GB. With this configuration the device was able to mount Windows 10, albeit with some problems. Let's see how it travels in the video below.
As you can see, the result is not excellent but the fact that it has been able to successfully insert an operating system of such thickness is a big goal. The problems they encountered are basically theinability to install some incompatible drivers and the ACPI table is not complete. We learned that there is a specific project on GitHub (which we leave you in source) for which it is possible to install Windows 10 on dipper (this is the code name of the device). The developers have been working on the project for a long time and starting with May this year i are different problems that have been fixed: UFS works properly, Linux ARM can also be booted, system tray clock works, Windows PE can be loaded.
What do you think? If you were used to the world of modding we leave you everything you need to proceed with the installation.
