The adversities surrounding the launch of the latest Xiaomi flagship, the Mi 9, and in some ways even the Mi 9 SE seemed to never end. Some time ago we told you about them production problems which have greatly slowed the release of Xiaomi's new 9 series. Well, these trouble seems to have been resolved, so let's find out what the president of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, had to say about it in the last hours.
Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9 SE, production problems have been solved
Lei Jun communicated on the Chinese social network Weibo that “The production capacity of Xiaomi Mi 9 / Mi 9 SE has increased rapidly. At the end of March, over 1,5 million units were produced. We will continue to improve everything and speed up production ”. He also added that "at the beginning of March we encountered some difficulties, then resolved towards the middle and end of the month. Furthermore, it was not our choice to 'starve the market' ".
On the first of April Xiaomi Group had made it known that a million Mi 9 had been produced, and 1,5 million smartphones in total if we count even the cheapest Mi 9 SE. Xiaomi also allowed the press to enter the Foxconn factory to observe the entire production process, which according to the Chinese giant can now produce more than 1 million Xiaomi Mi 9 per month.
To those who have not followed the story, we recall that the main problem that slowed down the initial production of Mi 9 resided in the photographic sector. The new and much-sought-after Sony IMX586 sensor together with the other camera components took longer than expected to be assembled.
