The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G, Together with I MIX Alpha, is one of the latest smartphones with support for the 5G network to have been released on the market. Furthermore, as some of you may know, the Mi 9 Pro 5G is also the device with the most economical technology in the world, which makes it a great option for all those who like to experience the latest in mobile technology firsthand.
But the latest variant of the Xiaomi flagship is much more than a device created to satisfy the few able to use the 5G network, but a real top of the range with the best hardware currently in circulation. What are we talking about? Well let's find out together thanks to the latest teardown shared online by the Chinese technology giant.
Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G Teardown: The beast stripped
Let's start as always by removing the back back cover, in this case in the beautiful white color. Without this we find ourselves in front of the famous coil for the wireless charging to well 30W (in reception) and that can also recharge other devices with reverse wireless charging technology to the incredible power of 10W (many smartphones are even struggling to support that power in reception). We then have graphite for cooling the battery and the motherboard, as well as rubber around the camera openings to protect against the ingress of liquids and dust.
In the second image we go instead to see the three rear cameras that include the main from well 48MP with focal length F / 1,75 accompanied by a secondary from 12MP with telephoto lens (zoom 2x) and a third one with 16MP resolution and ultra wide angle lens. While the front camera on the left has a resolution of 20MP (Samsung S5K3T1 sensor).
We then have a picture of the card with all the chips dedicated to 5G connectivity such as the Qualcomm X50M, SDR8154, PMX50 and many others. Together with the NXP SN100T chip that adds NFC functionality.
Switching to the motherboard instead, on it we find other Qualcomm chips necessary for the perfect functioning of the smartphone, along with more appetizing components such as the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon XNX Plus Plus processor, the 855GB RAM LPDDR8x and the internal memory 4GB.
In the image above we look closely at the linear motor used for the vibration feedback that Xiaomi had advertised a few days before. This has dimensions of 10x10x3.5mm and a dedicated chip for its high voltage power supply. The component has only 10ms activation time, allowing you to have very fast and precise feedback with every touch of the screen, there are also more than a hundred different types of vibration.
In the picture below we can take a general look at the different components like the 4000mAh battery, a great upgrade compared to the 3300mAh one of the original Mi 9. The Mi 9 Pro 5G also has a special and large cooling system with a steam chamber, five layers of graphite, a layer of high conductivity copper and thermal gel. All to get a cooling that Xiaomi calls "three-dimensional" and "ultra-efficient" which should lower the internal temperature by around 10,2 degrees Celsius. A necessary setup since even the Chinese company admits the existence of overheating problems when using 5G technology.
In the same image we see then the audio box with dimensions of 1,04 cubic centimeters (one of the largest), the fingerprint sensor under the seventh generation screen, the brightness sensor and the side on / off and volume buttons, too surrounded by a rubber for greater resistance to water and dust.
Finally, in the last photo we can see the extension of the cooling system also on the opposite side, for an area of around 1127 square millimeters.
