Xiaomi seems to have decided not to leave any surprise for the Xiaomi Mi 9 presentation event to be held on February 20 in China. In fact, the smartphone is already the protagonist of an advertising campaign even before the official debut of this Wednesday.
Among the many details made known by the company in recent days we have what for many is the balance of the scale when you decide to buy a device than another, we talk about the photographic industry.
Xiaomi Mi 9: Unveils the specifications of the 3 cameras
So let's go to the point, what specifics will these much-publicized cameras have? Let's start with the most important: the main camera on the back of the smartphone. This will be a Sony IMX586 with a maximum resolution of 48MP and pixel size of 0,8um with support for Super Pixel technology that allows you to combine four adjacent pixels and in fact have larger pixels to 1,6um.
Having larger pixels means above all improving the camera's performance in low light conditions even if this results in a reduction in the total resolution of the image to "only" 12MP.
The main camera will then have a focal aperture of f / 1,75, a lens to 6 components and closed-loop motor technology for ultra-fast autofocus.
Switching to the second rear camera, we will have a 16MP sensor accompanied by a wide-angle lens with a coverage angle of 117 degrees. This camera has 1,0um pixels of size, the same closed-loop motor technology and can be used for macros to 4cm away, to give you an idea, smartphones have on average a focusing distance of about 10cm.
Finally, to take photos from a greater distance or portraits, we have a 12MP camera with 2x optical zoom, here the pixels are 1,0um large with an aperture of f / 2.2 and closed-loop motor technology.
Among the other less attractive features that will still improve the quality of the photo we have a dark black lens coverage for a more homogeneous final look, a faster and more precise autofocus thanks to the fusion of laser technology, PDAF and CDAF. The whole is then frosted, almost literally, by a layer of sapphire glass with a surface of 243mm square which brings a higher transparency (compared to normal glass) and a superior resistance to scratches given to it by its hardness.
Xiaomi seems to have invested enough in the photographic industry this year, will it be enough to beat the competition? Fortunately we'll find out in a very short time!
It worries me that OIS is never mentioned
Don't worry, it will surely have it at least on the main one!
Let's hope ... and let's hope also on the super telescopic one, on my Mi6 the second camera is practically unusable for the microbones!
