With the presentation of the last Xiaomi Mi 9 SE, the Chinese giant has quickly lowered the bar regarding the inclusion of a fingerprint sensor below the screen. Before, in fact, if you wanted to buy a device with this technology, you had to look at flagship smartphones with prices from 500 euros upwards.
As you well know instead, the Mi 9 SE is a mid-ranger with a market price in China starting from 1999 Yuan, which translated into euros are about 270 €. So, in fact, now you can win a terminal with one of the most extravagant technologies at almost half the price.
New mid-rangers Xiaomi coming with sensor under the display, Mi A3?

If the Xiaomi Mi A3 were like this?
One of the companies to have made the UD scanner one of the must-haves even in more “cheaper” devices and the Chinese Vivo, which has been releasing smartphones of different sizes with this technology for a year now. Now, Xiaomi seems to want to follow the same strategy, flooding the market with at least three mid-range devices.
One of the terminals with this technology could be the successor of the Xiaomi Mi A2, so we are talking about a Mi A3 with on Android One. While in China it would be sold as Mi 9X and would run MIUI 10 (if not MIUI 11). The same goes for the Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite released in Europe as Android One Phone, while in China it was available under the name of Redmi 6 Pro and MIUI 10 as an operating system.
Both devices would still see a good upgrade from the point of view of the CPU, with a possible Snapdragon 675 on the Xiaomi Mi A3 and Snapdragon 636 or even 660 on the Mi A3 Lite.

Rumors about the possible presence of a fingerprint sensor below the screen were put on by the Xiaomi product director, Want Teng Thomas on the Chinese social media Weibo. More precisely, he would have said that "Xiaomi's goal for the 2019 is to release several mid-range devices with the new sensor".
Why now? Well, according to Wang, the technology is now mature enough to be able to use it in mass production. The sensors are now the 25% faster and work better with dry fingers, low temperature and other scenarios. Furthermore, with the new night mode it is possible to reduce the amount of light emitted to recognize the impression at about half, a substantial improvement that avoids the light effect in the eyes when you want to unlock the smartphone in the dark.
