In line with the presentation date anticipated by Xiaomi India, today the new Xiaomi Mi Band 3i has been presented. As we also said the previous time, the Mi Band 3i is a cheaper version (about 30%) of the best selling Mi Band 3 presented last year. Let's find out together what's different!
Xiaomi Mi Band 3i presented in India: The ultra economic fitness band
Let's start with the design that as you may have already noticed is not very different from the Mi Band 3, in fact the body is identical with a rounded dial, a TPU rubber strap and a display that covers part of it.
Speaking of displays, the Mi band 3i adopts the same screen as the original version, so we have a 0,78-inch AMOLED of monochrome type with a resolution of 120 x 80. Poco below we find the typical touch button of the series.
As with almost all Mi Band, we cannot know which chip feeds the fitness band, but we believe it is the same as the previous one. We say this because the autonomy of up to 20 days of use remains unchanged for the same size of the battery that still has a capacity of 110mAh.
The Mi Band 3i then equips a 4.2 BLE type Bluetooth module, a three-axis acceleration sensor, two pogo pins for charging that from 0 to 100% should last 2,5 hours and supports operating systems ranging from Android 4.4 up and from iOS 9 up. Finally, the fitness band is waterproof up to 5ATM and a total weight of 38 grams, therefore heavier than the Mi Band 3 which instead weighed on the 20 grams.
So where is the real difference that makes it cheaper than the Mi Band 3? The more discerning will have noticed that we did not mention the heartbeat sensor but not due to forgetfulness. The Mi Band 3i in fact does not equip any PPG sensor, so we will not be able to see on the app possible changes in the frequency of the beat under stress or during the day. A feature that probably many people considered useful.
In any case, the Xiaomi Mi Band 3i will almost certainly remain an Indian exclusive, with a price of 1299 Rupees, on the 16,35 € at current exchange rates.
