The release of Mi Band 4 will take place this year, in 2019. Maybe it will be in March or April, but also early summer, anyway it will be this year. From every generation of wearables we learn something, we always do better. And for Mi Band 3 we have certainly done it right given the sales volumes. Definitely much better than the previous version. So we expect the Mi Band 4 to have a similar trend with sales above all expectations. Right now, Mi Band 3 is still on sale and still selling well. Margin doesn't shrink, shipments don't shrink. We will therefore work with Xiaomi to choose the right time to launch Mi Band 4 in the year. "

I would say that David Cui leaves no doubts even though I personally think that this statement could slow down the sales of Mi Band 3 because on the other hand we know that there are many users who postpone the purchase of a product waiting for the new generation. Purchase that sometimes never seems to arrive. In the words of David Cui, an analysis should also be made on the trend of the wearable sector, as if smartwatches tend not to collect the hoped success, consumers towards fitness trackers direct their finances and this could suggest that Huami, now independent from Xiaomi with its own AmazFit brand, it could think about launching its own fitness band.
Huami increased its revenues by 78% in 2018, mainly thanks to strong sales of Xiaomi's Mi Band and Huami's Amazfit smartbands. Xiaomi has added new technologies and features to each new generation of its fitness trackers, and the Mi Band 4 is expected to follow the same trend. But what more can you expect?
