A little over a year from the release of the Mi Band 3 presented the 31 May of 2018, today has been announced the new generation of ultra-economical fitness band, the Xiaomi Mi Band 4.
If you have followed us in the last few days you probably already know the main changes from the previous version, but we will remember them anyway by adding the new details just communicated to the official presentation.
Xiaomi Mi Band 4 is official: Larger AMOLED screen and AI assistant
Let's start with the most important part of the Mi Band, or the display. The screen of the fitness band is AMOLED and color, to be precise over 16 thousand colors, while the size is 0,95 inches, which makes it the 39,9% larger than the Mi Band 3.
Turning instead to the lower part in contact with the skin, we find a latest-generation heartbeat sensor accompanied by pins for recharging, so in fact it will no longer be necessary to remove the Mi Band 4 from the strap, but simply to place the magnetic connector.
As for the internal components, the new Mi Band is equipped with a fifth generation Bluetooth chip for a fast connection and low power consumption with the smartphone. The battery of the Mi Band 4 has been slightly improved. Now we have a capacity of 135mAh, against the 110mAh of the previous version, for a range of about 20 days. Then there is a six-axis sensor to perfectly recognize six main sport modes: indoor running, weight lifting, swimming, cycling, walking and outdoor running.
Among the features we find that of assistant to artificial intelligence, we can then activate the assistant and give a command. For example, ask the Mi Band 4 to start the robot vacuum cleaner, turn on the air conditioner or the bedroom light, start a timer, set an alarm and much more. In addition, we also have direct controls to change songs and pause so that we don't have to take out our smartphone.
The new band is available in a version with NFC technology, this will allow, at least in China, to be able to pay electronically without the need to use a credit / debit card. Just bring the device close to the POS to pay instantly.
The Xiaomi Mi Band 4 will go on sale in June 14 in China at the 169 Yuan figure, or about 22 euros at the exchange, for the variant without NFC, while the one with the NFC module will be sold at 229 Yuan (29 €). Finally, we remind you that tomorrow, the 12 June day, the new fitness band will also be made official in Italy.
