Xiaomi Mi Band 6 NFC has arrived. Tonight the sixth generation smartband equipped with NFC it will officially arrive in Italy and we can buy it via Amazon or via the official website mi.com. More than a year has passed since the first news that featured the historic Xiaomi smartband equipped with NFC. In fact, in China the product equipped with chips for i contactless payments has existed since the fifth generation. Better late than never, as they say. But is all that glitters gold? As we read on the official website, Mi Band 6 NFC will not be compatible immediately with all banks and all circuits. But let's go in order. Based on what was announced on the day of the presentation, the smartband is compatible only with the circuit Mastercard. Ergo, Visa and the like will not work if we want to make payments. Also, as we can read on the site, only the credit, debit and prepaid cards of the Mastercard circuit issued by Nexi and placed by one of the partner banks are compatible with the NFC payment. However, soon the service will be extended to other banks. But now we have a doubt: does the extension to other banks imply that other distributors (besides Nexi) will also be contemplated? Theoretically yes, but we are not absolutely sure.
In this regard, if you have any doubts, we advise you to accountplease contact the Italian official support to ask for additional information. It would be a shame to buy a nice product like this and not be able to use it if our bank is not on the list or the card is not issued by Nexi.
In any case, remember that Xiaomi Mi Band 6 NFC will debut tonight at introductory price of 43.99 €, both on Amazon and mi.com.

Xiaomi itself tells us that for the first month the support will be exclusive to Nexi. After the first month, compatibility will be expanded to Mastercard circuit cards issued by other banks.

A small clarification on what is written (thanks, nice article!) The miband has the NFC sensor already starting from the fourth generation, not the fifth (fifth if we also consider the 1s as the second generation).
In any case, I have the 4 NFC miband (bought in China due to a pandemic) and the NFC sensor is completely useless, I hope the functionality will also arrive for the old mibands, even if I doubt ..
... actually, the first MiBand with Nfc was the 3, which I have (to no avail ...) owned ...
