We had talked about Xiaomi Mi Band 6 without knowledge of the facts, evaluating only those which in theory COULD be its features. That information wasn't official but came mostly from user feedback that emerged over the years, particularly since the launch of the Mi Band 5 which has disappointed a lot of expectations. According to what emerged from a research by AndroidTR however, the next smartband will not disappoint as it will integrate one of the most sought after features: theNFC for contactless payments. The first information of Xiaomi Mi Band 6 emerges: finally it seems that it will be equipped with NFC for contactless payments. But what else?
Going to dig into the application code Zepp, formerly Amafit, the Spanish team has found interesting information regarding what could be Xiaomi Mi Band 6. In particular, the name emerged: pangu. But this is not the only information we have on the next smartband. Before seeing the rest, however, it is necessary to make a clarification. It is not 100% sure whether it is the Xiaomi smartband: if we see the company's history, it could also be the Amazfit Band 6 heir to the Amazfit Band 5 just released. That said, let's see some screenshots of code.
According to the Spanish team, the fitness tracker should integrate the NFC sensor for remote payments. This feature is as much sought after as it is requested, but never inserted either by Xiaomi nor by Amazfit in its smartband. A really interesting news that we can't wait to finally try. We know however that its assenza in previous devices it's not entirely the fault of the two brands. The biggest stumbling block in Europe is the privacy regulations and for data protection that prevent so many devices from equipping this chip. In fact, there are very few devices that enjoy the feature.
Finally we see the code name. Kong Ming, or Mi Band 5 had a code name XMSH11HM; Kong Ming Pro, or Amazfit Band 5 had a code name XMSH14HM; Xiaomi Mi Band 6, that is pangu, will be codenamed XMSH16HM. The similarity in the code names leaves no room for much imagination: it could be the next smartband of the Chinese company.
