Yesterday, the founder and CEO of Xiaomi Group, Lei Jun, announced the birth of a new series of devices in step with fashion and dedicated to young people. The new series is called Xiaomi CC with the two letters that stand for “Chic & Cool”.
However, the announcement of the new smartphone line was not followed by the presentation of any real device, which therefore still remains a mystery. That said, a new video just released from Xiaomi's official account on the Chinese social media Weibo, could give us a preview of the device, at least from the design point of view.
Xiaomi Mi CC9 appears online with teardrop notch, white cover and metal frame
As we can see in some screenshots of the video in fact, an employee of Xiaomi wearing a T-shirt of the "CC" brand seems to hold a terminal not yet on the market.
The design of this device looks very similar to that of the Xiaomi Mi 9, which would confirm that it is the same one we saw certified in China a few days ago. By this we mean a smartphone with a front camera in a drip notch and three rear cameras positioned vertically on the left side.
Where it differs from the Xiaomi Mi 9 is in the colors, the Xiaomi CC9 in fact equips a back cover in white color (not available for the Mi 9) and also has a silver-colored metal frame, a bit in the style of iPhone X.
Obviously from the video we can't understand the internal hardware, but if all the others leaked rumors until now we will be confirmed we could have two versions of the device. The first with Snapdragon 710 processor and the second with the more powerful Snapdragon 730. The more premium variant will also have a fingerprint sensor below the display, instead of on the back.
Common specifications include an 4000mAh battery, 32MP front camera, 48MP rear camera and an NFC chip to make electronic payments and more.
As for the amount of RAM and internal memory. The Xiaomi Mi CC9 (with Snapdragon 730) should be available in these variants:
- 6 GB RAM - 128 GB Storage / Yuan 2.499 Yuan (about 322 euro at current exchange rate);
8 GB RAM - 128 GB Storage / Yuan 2.799 Yuan (about 360 euro at current exchange rate);
8 GB RAM - 256 GB Storage / Yuan 3.099 Yuan (about 399 euros at current exchange rate).
While the cheapest Xiaomi Mi CC9e will be available in this version:
- 6 GB RAM - 64 GB Storage / Yuan 1.599 Yuan (about 206 euro at current exchange rate);
