Although to date Xiaomi has not yet presented any monitors internationally, we at XiaomiToday hope that by covering the news from China, the company finally decides to sell them officially also in our country. After all, even Mi TVs were in the past a Chinese exclusive but for some months now they can also be purchased in the global version. Today we are therefore going to see the new Xiaomi Mi Display 1A 23.8 ″.
Xiaomi Mi Display 1A 23.8 ″ presented with even thinner edges
The Xiaomi Mi Display 1A 23.8 ″ is a PC monitor based on the Mi Display 23.8 ″ released in October 2019. How does the new version differ from the previous one? Well, Xiaomi says that the new Mi Display 1A 23.8 ″ has even thinner side edges than its predecessor. This is despite the fact that the monitor had ultra-thin edges as a strength. Now, the Chinese brand has not revealed how thick these edges are, but the official images suggest a width of about a millimeter.
For those who are not part of the gaming world, remember that having ultra thin edges is almost essential for those who want a multi monitor configuration for gaming. In particular, with this Xiaomi monitor we could have three monitors next to each other and a continuity of the display as few other monitors allow. Obviously the different monitors can also be used for productivity, but in that case the thin edges are not a real necessity.

As for the specifications, the display adopts IPS technology for more accurate colors and better viewing angles (to be precise 178 degrees) at a resolution of 1920 × 1080, therefore Full HD. The screen has a 60Hz refresh rate and there is no support for Nvidia's AMD Free-Sync or G-SYNC. However, there is no shortage of "Low Blue Light", DC Dimming and other features for less eye strain.
We then have a brightness of 250 nits, a contrast ratio of 1000: 1 and a response time of 6ms gray-to-gray, therefore average in terms of speed. While for the ports we find only two HDMI type outputs. The Xiaomi Mi Display 1A 23,8 ″ will go on sale in China for the amount of 699 yuan, about € 90 at the current exchange rate. Recall that these are prices dedicated to the Chinese market which will see price increases if marketed by third party stores.
