Xiaomi Mi Max 3: let's get to know it better

Yesterday was presented the new Xiaomi Mi Max 3, the titanic Chinese phablet that compared the previous generation brings a dowry well 7 improvements. Many people notice the beautiful display in 18 format: 9 with diagonal from well 6,99 inches, but Mi Max 3 is not only this but the same company to bet everything on the big screen made available. And so let's see better all the improvements and what has to offer Mi Max 3, which is renewed in the CPU by adopting a Snapdragon 636, in the photographic compartment with a dual camera and AI technology, as well as a battery increased to 5500 mAh.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3: let's get to know it better

Despite the huge 6,99-poly display with Full HD + 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution, in 18: 9 format (520 nits brightness, 1500: 1 contrast), Mi Max 3 manages to guarantee good ergonomics, thanks to a screen ratio -to-body-ratio of 85,19% and very contained frames. Moreover, although the screen measurements are really generous, those relating to the smartphone have not changed much compared to the previous generation, in fact they are expressed in 176,15 x 87,4 x 7,99 mm considering that the old Mi Max 2 had instead dimensions equal to 174,1 x 88,7 x 7,6 mm. Below you can still appreciate the majesty of Mi Max 3 compared to a small iPhone X with a 5,8-inch screen.

But we just said that ergonomics is guaranteed, so that in some situations, one-handed use is not a problem. Xiaomi has cleverly designed this phablet, harmonizing dimensions and displays. The soft touch keys that are inserted on the screen or replaced by the gesture, which we have learned to appreciate both on MIUI 9 and on MIUI 10, disappear. On the top of the display we also find a selfie camera that has been renewed, going from a view from 5 MP to a 8 megapixel, which will allow photos with fuzzy AI effect and improved selfies thanks to the presence of a small LED flash. In addition, the function of unlocking with the AI face has been inserted, which will further make it possible to avoid worrying about the smartphone's hold when searching for the fingerprint sensor on the back.

Still in terms of ergonomics, the body profiles have been slightly curved while the design of the signal receiving antennas is U-shaped, which blends perfectly with the sinuous lines of the Mi Max 3. We find the USB Type-C input but do not worry because Xiaomi also keeps the input jack 3,5 mm to take advantage of your best headphones, which we find in the upper profile where we also find the IR transmitter, which recently seemed to be divided into models like Redmi 6 and Mi 8. Needless to say that on such a huge display it will be a pleasure to enjoy the split screen function, so watch our favorite series on one side of the screen, and maybe continue to mess or scrutinize the social profile of some friends.

And there is no lack of performance, thanks to the adoption of a 636 SoC Snapdragon clocked at 1.8 GHz, already appreciated on Redmi Note 5, which on balance can be called a weakened version of the excellent Snapdragon 660. In a first AnTuTu test, Xiaomi Mi Max 3 receives a score of 118897 while in the GeekBench test it scores 1319 points in Single Core and 4714 points in Multi Core, in short, really bad results. Also with a huge display, the desire to appreciate the skills in gaming sessions is really high, so there is the Turbo Gaming function that automatically increases the speed and optimizes the processes during the game, preventing for example network changes or limiting the synchronization in the background.

The improvements in terms of gaming seem to involve a lot of fluidity, in fact, thanks to the GPU Adreno 509 you can appreciate a frame rate stabilized around the 55 fps, although not compatible with all games, but in any case the graphic details, such as shadows, they are faithfully reproduced, creating a sort of truly fulfilling realism. In short, the 6,99 inch display really does its good: in fact it is like playing with a tablet but with smaller dimensions and better ergonomics. The credit goes also to the RAM that goes up to 6 GB LPDDR4X Dual Channel type.

Xiaomi Mi Max 3: let's get to know it better

Xiaomi in the latest smartphone has greatly improved the photographic industry and therefore also for Mi Max 3 the treatment was really valuable. The rear chamber consists of a dual 12 + 5 megapixel module with f / 1.9 aperture and pixel area surface from 1.4 μm and stabilized optics. In addition, the Dual PDAF auto focus and the AI technology are inserted, with automatic scene detection in order to better set the shooting parameters. But let's take a closer look at the potential offered with photographic samples:

And we pass from the excellent photographic yield to that inherent in autonomy, thanks to a unit of 5500 mAh. Xiaomi Mi Max 3 enjoys almost an infinite duration, obtaining about 17 hours of continuous active screen. Although the battery is increased, the autonomy compared to Mi Max 2 is slightly lower, due to the larger display. However, the duration is still extraordinary. There is also support for Quick Charge 3.0 up to 18W, which translated means a full charge of energy in about 135 minutes. But one thing is really surprising, namely the fact that we could use our Mi Max 3 as a power bank, thanks to the reverse charging function, thanks to a Dual Type-C Type-C or Type-C data cable to Lightning, maybe while we listen to good music thanks to a stereo speaker. Xiaomi Max 3 supports fast reverse charge up to 5V / 1.2A and let's not forget OTG support.

In short, I already have a mouth water and you? Will you buy it or do you think it's not worth it and rather focus on other products? Before judging, keep in mind that the big Mi Max 3 already has native 20 band support at 800 mHz as well as Dual 4G function. Express your opinion in the comments box below.

Nerd, Geek, Netizen, terms that do not belong to me. Simply myself, technology lover and provocative as Xiaomi does with his products. High quality at fair prices, a real provocation for the other most famous brands.

Too bad for the lack of NFC, now essential with the new payment systems Samsung Pay, Google Pay, etc.

I was waiting for him at the gate. As soon as it arrives I buy it. This wonderful phablet avoids having a mobile phone from 5 inches and a tablet from 8 / 10. All in one. A 3 / 4 inch entry level 4g type the new nokia to bananab8110 of reserve for precaution, is the endowment is completed. Let's see the price. If it remains successful then 240 / 250 is a real deal.
