The leaks concerning Xiaomi smartphones they are channeling attention to the next Mi Max 3, the phablet of the Chinese company that in the previous generations has met with some success, by many not appreciated because of the really generous dimensions of the device. Recent rumors suggest that the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 follows the trend of the moment, with theadoption of a panel in 18 format: 9 but without abandoning the dear old 3,5 mm earphone jack. The design shown in the advertisers appeared on the web seems to promise very well, but everything seems to change according to them images published by @slaskleaks.
Apparently instead the last images appeared on the net completely reverse the scenario, showing a Mi Max 3 that broadcasts the design of the previous generation, and then no display at 18: 9, but the terminal leave the earphone jack leaving room only for the IR transmitter and the second microphone, and therefore basically we have to expect a USB Type-C input just like on the Mi Max 2. Which would also make some sense in terms of marketing, given the poco Appeal of Type-C Ambient Noise Reduction Earphones.
Of course there are no confirmations nor denials by Xiaomi and I personally believe that if the image is real it would not make sense to upgrade the phablet. However the Xiaomi Mi Max 3 could adopt a Full HD IPS display from 6,99 in and be powered by a chpset Snapdragon 660 aided by 3 / 4 GB of RAM and 64 / 128 GB of internal storage available. Further rumors want the presence of a dual camera on the back, support for 3.0 Quick Charge technology and a large 5500 mAh battery for a starting price of around 190 euro. Even these last rumors, at least looking carefully at the photo, seem to be denied as there seems to be a single camera, however, positioned above the fingerprint sensor.
On such a large screen I would find the 18: 9 aspect ratio useless, too narrow. If you want something that can be maneuvered with one hand, take a 5 inch and be calm. As for the usual notes about the poco appreciation of the Mi Max 2 because of its size, I keep finding it more and more absurd: there are thousands of 5-inch alternatives, those looking for a phone like the Mi Max 2 obviously need something other than a 5-inch.
