It is not the first time that we see a Xiaomi smartphone that runs a version of Windows instead of the usual MIUI based on Android. At the end of August Xiaomi Mi 8 was caught working with Windows 11, which is the latest operating system from Microsoft, among other things, just released. Well, today let's see how Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 works on Windows 11 and even better than the Mi 8! In fact, some Chinese developers have created a porting that does not present the same criticalities we saw on the previous model. And remember that the second generation MIX has less powerful hardware than the Mi 8!
It is not fake news, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 managed to run Windows 11 without too many problems thanks to unscrupulous Chinese geeks!
It must be said that Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi MIX 2 are not the only smartphones ever to be able to mount Windows 11. There are in fact other models that can do it such as Lumia 950, Lumia 950XL, OnePlus 6T and many others. A curiosity lies in the fact that these are all long-standing devices, with hardware that is no longer officially supported. Curiosity that makes us think: why companies like Qualcomm do not allow brands to extend support? Or rather, why don't they themselves do it? Certainly economic reasons under which we "mere mortals" ignore. But having said that, let's see the Mi MIX 2 with Windows 11.

Microsoft officially has stopped supporting Windows 10 Mobile some time ago, but with the efforts of the WoA project developers, there will still be plans to flash the new system for the old models. Since Microsoft provides a version of Windows 10 that is compatible with ARM devices, a group of independent developers have kept the Lumia Windows project on unofficial ARM - Lumia WoA - alive in recent years. Now that Microsoft has released a preview version of Windows 11 ARM, there are new systems to try.
