After being entry into the Swiss market with the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G at the beginning of the month, the Chinese giant has today announced two more new stages of the 5G expansion path on the European territory. The first Xiaomi smartphone that supports the next generation internet will in fact be available in Italy and Spain starting from May 23.
The news comes directly from Wen Ou on Twitter, the marketing director of Xiaomi for Western Europe. Let's see the whole tweet below.

As we can read in the tweet, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G will be the first device with support for the 5G network for sale both in Italy and in Spain. However, Wen Ou does not specify with which operators they will cooperate in order to take advantage of 5G connectivity, so we hope to find out in a couple of days.
We now summarize the main features of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G. The device integrates a Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem that allows it to connect at frequencies below the 6 GHz for a download speed of up to 1Gbps. The smartphone is then equipped with the new and powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, so a good upgrade compared to the non-845G Snapdragon 5, there is also a new cooling system to take advantage of all the chip power during long sessions of play. Finally, perhaps the change we all appreciate the most is the battery size now from well 3800mAh, a big step forward compared to the 3200mAh of the non-5G.
All other specifications aboard the Mi MIX 3 5G remain unchanged instead. We will therefore find an 6,39 inch AMOLED screen with 2340 × 1080 resolution and screen to body ratio of 93.4%; two front cameras of 24MP and 2MP to create photos with the blur effect, while on the back we have two 12MP sensors with wide-angle lens stabilized at 4 axes and telephoto.
For those who had forgotten, we also remember that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G is the device that adopts a sliding mechanism that hides the two front cameras for a truly full screen design when not necessary.
As for the price of the smartphone, here we have a fairly substantial price increase. While the "basic" version of the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 costs only 549.9 euros, the new variant with 5G connectivity will instead be sold at 699.9 €, thus an increase of well 150 euros. An excellent smartphone, Xiaomi always amazes us, for the characteristics and the appeal of "the first 5G in Italy" in my opinion the price increase is justified ... Let's remember that it is a Top product and compared to other top the price of this Xiaomi is always very interesting
