Remember Xiaomi Mi MIX 3? Just the vertical scrolling smartphone that made Mi Fans dream back in 2018. We are waiting for his heir, much talked about but never officially seen. The Mi MIX 4 indeed, it should arrive just in a few months while, however, his heir was literally left to himself. Let's not talk about the 5G variant: no comment. However, Xiaomi does not stop innovating and thinks about making the "reborn" sliding mechanism modifying it and making it horizontal. Let's see the details.
Xiaomi thinks of a smartphone with horizontal scrolling: it is very reminiscent of Mi MIX 3. Will it be the Mi MIX 4? Here's how the device works
In a patent brought to us by LetsGoDigital this morning, which follows that of the smartphone with flipping camera, let's see how the brand intends to resurrect it Xiaomi Mi MIX 3. In reality, it is not about this device as there are no names on the patent. Note the similarity however it is very simple. This model, the design patent was filed on January 13, 2021 by Xiaomi with the CNIPA, shows a side scrolling device. The smartphone has narrow screen edges and a full screen design.
At first sight, no selfie camera is visible. The back is also completely devoid of cameras, which gives the device a particularly elegant and unique look. There are actually more variants of this Xiaomi smartphone with side scrolling. One, the one we see above, is not equipped with cameras. The second model instead, the hides right under the sliding mechanism horizontal. As we see in the photo (below), the sliding Xiaomi smartphone, if moved to the right, makes three cameras appear in one dedicated space.
This second variant provides three sensors in the front (left image) e four in the front (image in the center). Then there is a third model (image on the right) which even incorporates a second screen, which will cover itself if the user opens the device, always with the sliding mechanism.
Clearly, as anticipated, it's not really about Mi MIX 3. However this very particular design reminds that. Let it be the Mi MIX 4 that we are all waiting for? Although many would like the camera under the display, this solution would not mind.
