Although the Mi Mi 3 was presented only a few months ago, many already seem to be waiting for the successor, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4. This is probably due to the poco success achieved by the latest flagship of the MIX series, which arrives with a sliding design that many consider not very practical and that adds a lot of thickness to the device.
Well, today a famous Chinese designer, Miyo, has decided to create a draft of what could be the next Xiaomi Mi MIX 4, based on all the technology available today.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 4: The concept design in a new sketch
As you will all know, the purpose of the MIX series has always been to bring a "bezel-less" device, that is as borderless as possible. The original Mi MIX had in fact practically zero edges both at the top and at the sides, while at the bottom there was the famous chin with the camera. The Mi MIX 3 then moved even closer to the target of 100% of screen-to-body ratio (screen / chassis ratio) but the sliding design did not go crazy.
So what would be the solution? Well, as you have already seen in the picture above, it is a pop-up camera at the top of the device. A design already used by several Chinese brands such as Vivo and Oppo and that despite not being appreciated by everyone, it is perhaps still one of the best choices today if the goal is to have a truly "full screen" smartphone.
The design with a pop-up camera would then also have been the most voted by Chinese users on the Weibo social network when questioned by Xiaomi vice president and general manager from the Redmi brand, Lu Weibing.
Moving on to the back of this concept design of Mi MIX 4 we find three cameras, this time a bit cloned by Huawei with its P30 Pro. We have in fact a main camera with a “normal” lens, a secondary one with an ultra wide-angle lens a third with periscope technology for an optical 5x zoom and 10x in hybrid mode.
In conclusion, even if the above are only sketches, it is very likely that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 follows that trend and has a camera that comes out automatically from the top of the smartphone.
Obviously we already suspect that this choice may not appeal to many for the "mechanical component that will break sooner or later" theory, even if today we do not seem to have heard of Oppo or Vivo devices with these problems.
What do you think about it? Are you a part of those who hate this design or give it a chance? Let us know in the comments section below!
The pop-up camera is the best method to get a screen to maximize the size of the screen. To those who don't like this solution I ask: how much would it cost to replace a screen with an integrated camera (be it notch or the hole of S10)?
