Today, the general manager of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain, has definitely had his work cut out. Starting with the presentation of the Redmi K20 series now available in the Asian country and ending with the presentation of a "new" pair of Bluetooth headphones, the Xiaomi Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones.
Why did we write “new” in quotation marks? Well, very simply because it is not a new product in itself, but rather a revisitation of the Mi Neckband released just over a year ago and of which you can find our review in This Page.
Xiaomi Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones with Bluetooth 5.0 presented in India
So let's start with design, which is the factor that the two generations seem to have in common. Both have in fact what is called "Micro-Arc" collar design, or a slightly arched shape that makes them very ergonomic when resting on the neck. For the rest, we find the same buttons on the left side to change songs, lower or increase the volume, pause or play a song. There is also Dynamic bass technology with Tri-Band equalization.
Let's now move on to the only substantial difference, namely the generation of Bluetooth. On the new Xiaomi Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones we have in fact a Bluetooth 5.0 with support for HFP / A2DP / HSP / AVRCP, against the more obsolete 4.2 of the original Chinese version. Perhaps also thanks to this change, the autonomy has increased from 7 hours to 8 hours of continuous playback (with volume set to 80 percent). In any case, the built-in battery has a capacity of 120mAh and can be fully recharged in about 2 hours through the microUSB port.
Finally, as regards dimensions, the new Neckbands are 445mm x 80mm x 26mm for a total net weight of 13,6 grams, therefore ultra-light.
The Xiaomi Mi Neckband Bluetooth Earphones will go on sale in India starting from July 23 to the number of 1599 Indian rupees, or on the 20 euros at current exchange rates.
