In November of the 2019, poco after the presentation of the Xiaomi CC9 Pro, known in Italy as Mi Note 10, the famous photo rating site DxOMark, released the review of the smartphone putting it at the top of the ranking with 121 points, on a par with the Huawei Mate 30 Pro that until that day had dominated unchallenged.
Xiaomi Mi Note 10 / C99 Pro reviewed on DxOMark, has one of the worst audio compartments
The review of the time, however, only concerned the photographic sector and not the audio sector. The French site has in fact started to review the audio output and that recorded by the devices in recent months. If you follow us assiduously, you will also know that this is the second audio review that we report here on XiaomiToday, with the first that instead concerned the Black Shark 2 Pro, the gaming phone of the Xiaomi sub-brand.
In any case, returning to the Xiaomi CC9 Pro in the Premium Edition version, the smartphone scored only 54 points. One of the lowest scores on the platform, in front of very few devices such as the Sony Xperia 1, Honor 20 Pro and the Black Shark 2 Pro.
As for the other time, the score is then divided into "playback" and "recording" (audio recording), with the CC9 Pro it scored 50 and 66 points respectively.
More specifically, we discover that the smartphone has shown a decent performance to equip only one speaker. Then there was a clear and precise reproduction of mids and highs, followed by a good reproduction of distance and 3D localization. Finally, the DxOMark team noticed few artifacts such as distortions at normal audio levels.
On the negative side, we have a subtle sound, due to the lack of bass; too low minimum volume and maximum volume distortions.
Moving on to audio recording instead. The smartphone has brought excellent performance, with efficient localization, as well as precise clear and high mids. There were also few artifacts and good dynamic performance at medium volume. Where it did not do very well is instead when you went to record audio memos with too low a volume. Recording in noisy environments generates numerous artifacts and finally, stereo sound seemed reversed in rear and front camera videos.
So, in conclusion, a fairly negative result for a medium range that is not very cheap. That said, the Xiaomi C99 Pro adopts one of the best photographic sectors also compared to top of the range of other brands. This thanks to the five rear cameras with the main having 108MP resolution, Samsung ISOCELL HMX sensor, a secondary 12MP with telephoto lens, a 5MP with ultra zoom, the fourth 20MP ultra wide angle and finally a 2MP depth sensor.
