The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air laptop series is probably one of the most popular among the many products of the Chinese brand. The Mi Notebook Air was originally presented in the 2016, with a design decidedly inspired by the MacBook Air, as the name suggests, obviously followed by a lower price.
Oddly enough, however, none of the models has ever been equipped with an Intel Core i3 processor, that is, the entry-level CPUs with technology more similar to that of desktops. An option that would have brought significant benefits while keeping costs low.
New Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air with Intel Core i3 presented, will cost 3999 Yuan (500 €)
It will not be so since today, as the company has just announced a new version of the Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air with i3 eighth-generation processor, specifically the Intel Core i3-8130U, a dual-core with four threads and a maximum frequency of 3.4Ghz, while the integrated graphics is an Intel UHD Graphics 620. The CPU is then assisted by 8GB of RAM DDR4, and an SSD of 128GB with space for an additional memory of type M.2.
The new Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air arrives with the same 13,3-inch screen, Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080), 170 degrees of display and 300 nits of maximum brightness, finally there is a layer of third generation Corning Gorilla Glass (the one used in smartphones) to protect the panel; there is also a fingerprint sensor on the touchpad.
Under the body we find instead a new cooling system with two fans connected to a heatpipe, these produce an improved airflow of 63%, while the heatpipe is the largest 37% of the previous and therefore will cool everything faster.
Then we have a battery from 40W that in combination with the low-power processor can give up to 9 hours and a half of autonomy. Finally, as for the ports, the Mi Notebook Air with i3 comes with a USB Type-C port (supports data transfer, charging and video output), two 3.0 USB ports, a full-size HDMI port, and an audio jack from 3,5mm to connect headphones or external speakers.
The Xiaomi Mi Notebook Air Intel Core i3-8130U is now in presale on the Xiaomi website at 3999 Yuan, that is about 500 €.
