Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 coming soon: the stylus that will accompany it has been patented

As those who follow us already know, some time ago several senior Xiaomi executives publicly announced that a new generation of Xiaomi tablets will be launched this year. While a few days ago, leaks revealed what should be there specifications on board the Mi Pad 5.

Well, another detail leaked today. In fact, according to a Chinese leakster, the stylus that will accompany the tablet has just been patented in China.

The patent shows us a pen that adopts a design very similar to that of the Apple Pencil. In particular, the general shape is similar to that of a pencil, but with a cap at the bottom. It is assumed that under this hood there is a USB Type-C port for charging both directly from the charger and from the tablet in case of need.

In addition, the patent drawing also shows us that there is a magnet-like area in the center of the pen, this should allow us to attach it to the Mi Pad 5 chassis quickly and easily. According to the Chinese media, this patent would confirm that the Mi Pad 5 is very close to the presentation.

As for the specifications of the tablet, several rumors suggest that it will be positioned in the high end, with a full screen design and 2K display resolution. At the same time, the tablet will use an iPad-like aluminum alloy material on the side edges and back. There will also be the recognition of the lateral fingerprint.

Moving on to the internal hardware, the Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will be equipped with one of Qualcomm's flagship processors, the Snapdragon 870, which will bring high performance, even if not on par with the Snapdragon 888. That said, the larger surface of the tablet could be used to better dissipate heat and therefore bring better performance than what we see in smartphones.

Finally, Xiaomi executives had previously revealed that it will be developed specifically for tablets, this should be called MIUI for Mi Pad.

Now we just have to wait a little longer (hopefully) to find out more!
