Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will be available in three versions with Snapdragon 860, 870 and 888

A couple of days ago we finally learned what the model number is and what is possible launch period of the long-awaited Xiaomi Mi Pad 5. Today, new leaks allow us to create an even clearer panorama on the models that will be part of the Mi Pad 5 series; let's go find out more!

Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 will be available in three versions with Snapdragon 860, 870 and 888

As usual, the Chinese leakster Digital Chat Station leaked these new rumors. Indeed, he has just stated that there is also a version of the Mi Pad 5 with the “sm8150ac” chipset.

Some of you will remember that this name corresponds to the improved version of the Snapdragon 860 processor released by Qualcomm not long ago, which itself was an improved version of the Snapdragon 855+.

In fact, the Snapdragon 860 and Snapdragon 855+ are exactly the same in terms of CPU, GPU, DSP and other architectures. Both use the Kryo 485 core with a maximum frequency of 2,96 GHz, Adreno 640 GPU and Hexagon 690 DSP. The Snapdragon 860 doesn't support 5G networks but supports up to 16GB of RAM, and two 1080P displays with a 90Hz refresh rate.

In any case, this new update could suggest that there will actually be three variants of the Mi Pad 5 and not two as previously thought. We will therefore have the cheaper version with the Snapdragon 860 on board, the intermediate one powered by a Snapdragon 870 and finally the variant with the super-performing Snapdragon 888; although this model should go further.

However, we point out that according to another blogger, the three devices have codenames ENUMA, ELISH and NABU, and model numbers K81, K81A and K82. Cameras from 12MP to 48MP and only two CPU models, Snapdragon 870 and Snapdragon 860.

For the rest, the tablet should use an 11-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 2560 × 1600, refresh rates of 120Hz and 240Hz, with a Novatek TDDI panel and 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity.
