Two months after the crackling presentation of the Xiaomi Mi Pad, the company has debuted today in the Chinese market the tablet in the version with memory from 64GB!
On paper, the Mi Pad is a small 7.9 inch Retina display tablet with features that would envy many of its stable competitors on much higher price bands. For it to run, we find the powerful Nvidia Tegra K1 processor and also 2GB of RAM. The only stain may be the reverse: the choice to use polycarbonate shiny makes it pretty slippery.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad is currently on the market with 16GB internal memory, but today in China, Lei Jun's company also debuted the 64GB version at the price of 1699 yuan (about 203 Euros). Except for the possible reflection on the price difference between the two versions (1499 yuan vs. 1699, 179 euro vs. 203), the question we ask is: why a consumer should buy the 64GB version when both have slots memory expansion up to 128GB? Would not it be more sensible to differentiate models based on other features (one LTE and one not for example!)?
