Xiaomi Mi TV official 5 Pro: all you need to know
The first thing that strikes the eye is the ultra-reduced thickness, in fact we speak of only 5,9 mm of pure technology, a true miracle if we think that in circulation there are smartphones that have a greater thickness than the Xiaomi smart TV. Super small dimensions also for the frame that encloses the display: only 1,8 mm which are made of noble material such as curved aluminum over the whole body, while on the rear we find a structure without screws, giving a style of elegance unique in its kind.
Touch of class is also given by the recess on the right frame, where the inscription "Designed by Xiaomi" is engraved while the company logo is laser engraved on the lower frame. Speaking in terms of technology, on board the new Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro we find a panel with Quantum Dot technology (QLED Dot LED), based on nanocrystals, a sort of bridge between a classic LCD and an OLED. Of course there is a LED backlight with the integration of a quantum dot filter able to filter the light for a better color rendering. Basically the resolution is 4K but the hardware enjoyed by the smart TV also allows 8K decoding, thanks to the Amlogic T972 SoC to 12 nm, Cortex-A55 quad-core architecture with a frequency of 1,9 GHz. Compared to the previous generation, performance increased by 63% and energy consumption is reduced by 55%.
For completeness of information regarding the display, Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro also supports the HDR10 + with 108% color coverage in NTSC, while at the level of dedicated functions we find the MEMC compensation (Motion Estimation Motion Compensantion), with which it is improved the general fluidity of the image by inserting frames estimated among the real ones, ie the dynamic interpolation of some high speed images is implemented.
To complete the hardware there is a RAM desk from 4 GB and 64 GB of internal storage. Of course, the PatchWall software and an audio section enriched with Dolby Audio and DTS HD support are inevitable. Xiaomi Mi TV 5 Pro will be available in China with prices equal to 3699 yuan (475 euros) for the variant from 55 inches, 4999 yuan (642 euros) for the one from 65 inches and finally 9999 yuan (1284 euros) for the mammoth diagonal from 75 inches.
