Not many users know these words and so let's see what they mean.

Before seeing the core of the news, that is the adhesion of Xiaomi and its Mi TVs within the group united by the IMAX Enhanced Certification, let's see what it is. Simply put IMAX Enhanced is a new one standard which promises remastered images and audio according to the IMAX standard, in fact; a licensing and certification program for home entertainment equipment. The goal is to bring the quality of cinema directly into our homes, certifying precisely the televisions. Companies like Sony, TCL, and Hisense have already joined since 2018.
I concrete them, how does the quality improve? Certified televisions offer nearly identical images to those reproduced in a movie theater. Playing a 4K Blu-ray Disc on an IMAX Enhanced TV or projector, we will see images with a standard aspect ratio but with a higher resolution. IMAX Enhanced requires a certified display, an AV receiver and enough speakers to cope with IMAX PPS proprietary speaker configurations (Proportional Point Source). The good news is that the standard is backwards compatible with 4K / HDR TVs too, so any IMAX Enhanced disc can be played on old Mi TV.
In short, a big step for Xiaomi although compatible models have not been announced at the moment. If what we wrote is true (seriously, we assure you it is) all 4K TVs will soon be able to take advantage of this standard. Undoubtedly the new Mi TV 6 will be equipped with the best technology in this regard.
