On November 5th Xiaomi presented the Mi Watch, the first real smartwatch developed and released by the Chinese brand. Today, after almost a month, the long awaited update finally arrives that fixes many of the bugs that we find on board the wearable since the sale. Let's find out all the details together!
Xiaomi Mi Watch: First OTA update coming on December 5
In the update that will arrive on all Chinese devices via OTA day 5 December, Xiaomi has fixed the software from the point of view of the functions, and in the experience of use. It also adds new features and at the same time solved some system vulnerabilities.
Let's start with some tips to upgrade the smartwatch for those who somehow managed to get one. Before updating the Xiaomi Mi Watch make sure you have at least the 50% battery, turn off the Bluetooth and connect to the WiFi network (if it is not already connected). After this, remove the smartwatch from your wrist and place it on the charging base, this will allow you to download the update faster and at the same time do not discharge the battery further.
To install the update, go to Settings - System and click on System Update to start the download. Once downloaded we will have a notification asking us to click to start the update.

As for the software itself, Xiaomi states that with this update the reload function is optimized, solving the problem of slow recharging of the Mi Watch. Synchronization is also improved for the first time between the smartwatch and the dedicated application, which also crashed. We then have a new tutorial within the application, an improvement of the Sogou keyboard UX and XiaoAI artificial intelligence assistant.
In the new Mi Watch firmware we will also find full support for iOS and we will have the dedicated app also on the Apple App Store.
Finally, after the update it will be possible to set an alarm with only the vibration (therefore no sound) and through the Mi Home application we will be able to manage different gadgets such as smart LED bulbs, changing the brightness or color through the digital crown.
