New Mijia Ninebot electric shoes presented

At the Mijia conference held yesterday in Beijing, the Xiaomi sub-brand presented a lot of new products. Among these, there are eight that according to the company are more important and we have already seen them in this post. While among others we find the new pair of Mijia Ninebot electric shoes.

Mijia Ninebot electric skates are the successors of the NineBot Drift W1 presented about a year ago, created in collaboration with Segway. Those we see today are instead the result of the Xiaomi brand, even if at first glance they seem very similar to the previous ones.

Xiaomi Mijia Ninebot Electric Skates

Let's start with the basics; What's it about? Mijia Ninebot electric skates are just like single-wheeled skates that use the same technology as self-balanced electric scooters. This means that once the device is switched on, it will remain balanced on the wheel. After that, first put one foot on one skate and then the other to follow, making sure to stay balanced on the first.

In fact, these skates move according to the inclination of the foot, so for example if we tilt the foot forward (with the tip downwards), the skid will move forward, vice versa if we push down with the heel, the skid will return back.

These movements will go a little against our muscle memory if we are used to going on roller skates or ice skates, as the movements are exactly opposite.

In any case, Mijia's electric shoes weigh 2,6Kg each and can carry people from the 5 to the 50 years with a maximum 80Kg weight, while the construction material is a unibody magnesium alloy.

Xiaomi says that it only takes 10 minutes of learning to be able to run with skates without difficulty, but from personal experience this seems like a pretty good number. Moreover, the company always makes it clear that these devices are to be used in parks, squares or others with flat and dry surfaces. It cannot be used as a means of transport, such as the Mi Electric Scooter and the like.

Finally, inside we find six high-powered 18650 batteries for up to 80 minutes of use, this also thanks to the BMS system for intelligent battery management, reducing consumption when paused.

The Mijia Ninebot electric skates will officially go on sale in China on 18 June at the 999 Yuan figure, or on the 127 euros at the exchange.

What do you think of this product? Does it seem interesting at least for younger people? Please let us know in the comments section below.
