Yesterday we talked about gadgets for health and well-being, today we go instead to see two new appliances presented by Xiaomi on their official website. Let's talk about the new Mijia microwave oven and a water softener produced by Chanitex.
So let's start with the Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave Oven, a microwave oven characterized by the typical design of Mijia products, that is very clean and in “pure” white color. Also externally we find an electronic knob to select one of the 26 modes of use and an on / off button. The volume of the oven is 20 liters, so enough to accommodate typical kitchen dishes.

As for the inside of the fuselage, the Mijia microwave oven uses a microcrystalline plate heating with total power of 700 W. Thanks to the heating technology used, Mijia ensures that even without the use of a turntable, the microwave will succeed to heat food at 360 degrees. The Mijia Smart Microwave Oven has a rapid heating mode for 60 seconds that is activated by holding down the knob and there are different functions for defrosting, sterilization and auto-selection.
Naturally, being a smart product of Mijia, the microwave oven adopts an integrated WiFi module, this to allow its use through the dedicated Mijia app and with support for the Xiaomi artificial intelligence assistant, or XiaoAI.
Finally, from the safety point of view, the oven uses a robust structure with a four-layer tempered glass door, a lock protection switch and a new network design for high efficiency shielding.
The Xiaomi Mijia Smart Microwave Oven is on sale in China for the price of 399 yuan (around 52 €) in the partner shops: Mi.com, Tmall, Jingdong and Suning.
Let's move on to the new Mijia smart water softener added today to the catalog of crowdfunding products on the Xiaomi website.
For those who do not know it, the softener is a tool suitable for softening the water, or to reduce its hardness, a term used to indicate the concentration of calcium and magnesium salts which precipitate forming scale deposits on surfaces. Furthermore, excessively hard water can create health problems, among other things leading to dry skin and even hair loss.
Returning to the Chanitex appliance, this wall softener uses a system that exchanges the calcium and magnesium ions present in the water with "functional" ions present in an internal resin, reducing water hardness. Specifically, through different processes developed by the brand, it is possible to reach an 99,9% removal rate.
Softened water can then be used by the user to take a bath for example. We will have a reduction of limescale in the water with subsequent reduction of foam, the cleaning will also be deeper both in the pores of the skin and in the hair follicles of the scalp, effectively improving the ratio between water and the natural oil created by the body. At the same time, fresh water can moisturize dry skin much more effectively, function not by poco especially for sensitive skin such as that of a child.
The Chanitex water softener is now crowdfunding on the official website at the figure of 2699 yuan, or about 350 €.
