With the internet increasingly dominating and practically dictating our daily lives, the upcoming Xiaomi MiWiFi Mesh Router, which was brought up some time ago, is perhaps one of the most awaited gadgets from our favorite Chinese giant.
That said, since the official information revealed the far March 1st of the 2019, we hardly heard about it anymore. Well, today it seems to be the turning point we were waiting for, in fact the news that the MiWiFi Mesh will be officially presented on 13 May, or next Monday, arrives from the official Xiaomi Router page.
Xiaomi MiWiFi Mesh Router: On sale from 13 May to 999 Yuan
As we had already discovered some time ago, the Xiaomi MiWiFi Mesh Router is a router that can improve the Wi-Fi connection inside our homes, especially if it is a large area to be covered. In fact, the router uses the Mesh technology for a multi-channel hybrid connection with four independent signal amplifiers, this allows to considerably expand the covered surface.
Furthermore, the Mesh system ensures that the connected device, whether it is a smartphone, tablet or laptop, can switch from one router to another automatically and without slowing down.
From the hardware point of view, the MiWiFi Mesh Router is equipped with a quad-core processor from Qualcomm and 256MB of RAM, supports both 2,4Ghz, 5Ghz, Gigabit powerline and has an Ethernet socket. Through the latter it is then possible to reach a theoretical maximum speed of 2567Mbps.
As far as design is concerned, the router with Mesh technology adopts a “chimney” structure, this facilitates the dissipation of heat a bit like Apple did with the Mac Pro. Inside we find a large metal heat sink treated with a layer of nano particles that increase its cooling properties. So theoretically this router should never suffer from overheating, even in summer.
Finally, as we said at the beginning, the Xiaomi MiWiFi Mesh Router will be officially presented on May 13 at the figure of 999 yuan, or about 130 €.
But then to use it to the best you need to buy two in order to have an optimal wifi signal with mesh networks?
I would say yes, the main point of a Mesh network is that you can switch between access points without problems. If just one were enough, any router would be fine.
We have to wait to understand how many Mi Mesh routers there are in a package.
exact to 130 2 pieces wouldn't hurt
