Xiaomi MIX Flip and MIX Fold 4 official: the brand's first vertical foldable arrives
The Xiaomi MIX Flip is designed to be extremely light and portable. When closed, it is the size of the palm of your hand, It weighs just 192g and is 7,6mm thick (glass version). This makes it 19g lighter and 2,7mm thinner than the iPhone 15 Pro Max, setting a new standard for portability.
The device is available in four classic colors: black, white, ghost purple and Xiaomi Phoenix Feather Fiber Edition. The black glass version uses sandblasted AG technology, which provides a delicate and smooth feel without leaving fingerprints. The white version uses flash sand technology, which gives a more dynamic look, while the ghost purple version is full of style. The Xiaomi Phoenix Feather Fiber edition uses “nylon 66” polymer material as the base, showing very rhythmic color change thanks to precision weaving and vacuum coating technology.
The MIX Flip comes with one 4,01 inch multifunctional external screen it's one 6,86 inch internal screen. The external screen has a full-depth micro-curved design, which appears like a piece of black jade when turned off and offers a stunning visual effect when turned on. The internal screen uses UTG ultra-thin flexible glass, which ensures excellent viewing effects and durability.
In terms of performance, the MIX Flip is equipped with the mobile platform Third generation Snapdragon 8, offering high performance. To improve heat dissipation, the device uses airgel material in the “step” position, effectively isolating the heat generated by the SoC and improving the user experience under high load. Xiaomi's Dragon Armor structure ensures high performance and reliability, with high-quality SGS certification for folding, making the MIX Flip more durable and safe in daily use.
Lo Xiaomi MIX Flip is equipped with a main camera from 50 megapixel and a telephoto camera. The main camera has an aperture of F1.7, supports floating focus, and the closest focusing distance is only 9cm. There front camera is 32 megapixels and supports autofocus. This setup not only offers excellent performance in terms of hardware, but also improves the overall shooting experience thanks to features such as Xiaomi Image Brain 3.0 (Xiaomi AISP) and Master Portrait.
For video creation, the MIX Flip offers AI-connected photo editing tools, adding features such as “one-sentence-to-film” and “AI image”. Users can simply give a command to Xiao Ai, which will automatically extract materials from the phone's album and generate a customized Vlog. AI also supports operations such as adding soundtracks to videos, applying filters and adjusting styles, helping users create high-quality video content with ease.
Finally, the smartphone is equipped with a battery 4780mAh, which uses Xiaomi's most advanced silicon negative electrode technology, with an energy density of up to 780Wh/L. This allows the MIX Flip to have a large capacity battery while maintaining a thin and lightweight design. The MIX Flip was also presented together with the MIX Fold 4 for a starting price of 8999 Yuan (1130 euros) for the 12+256GB version.
Thanks to Keel Hinge 2.0 technology of Xiaomi, the hinge volume is reduced by 34% and the weight by 16%. The use of 1800MPa ultra-strong steel ensures worry-free bending 500.000 times. The full carbon structure improves overall strength and further reduces weight.
The MIX Fold 4 comes with one 6,56-inch micro-quad-curved external screen with 2520×1080 resolution, covered by Xiaomi Dragon Crystal glass, and one 7,98 inch internal screen with ultra-thin UTG flexible glass and 2488×2244 resolution. Both screens offer an overall brightness of 1700 nits and a peak brightness of 3000 nits, with a high definition of 418PPI, supporting a 1-120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate and 2160Hz PWM+DC regulation.
In terms of imaging, the MIX Fold 4 is equipped with a Leica Summilux quad-camera system at full focal length, including a 2X floating focus lens group and a 5X periscope super telephoto lens, offering a complete Leica photography experience.
