While the Redmi sub-brand was busy presenting the new one Redmi K20 series, il RedmiBook 14 and new suitcase, the parent company Xiaomi has instead given to do by launching two quite interesting devices, one of which could return very useful in the summer, we talk about the new Xiaomi Mosquito Killer Lamp and the Aqara Smart Motorized Curtain B1.
Let's start with the Xiaomi Mosquito Killer Lamp, which as the name suggests is a lamp that kills mosquitoes. The lamp creates a frequency of light between 365 and 395, or those preferred by insects, through a golden filament. This, together with substances that simulate the smell of human skin, are used to attract mosquitoes that enter the vents and are then sucked in to prevent them from escaping.
New anti-mosquito lamp and smart motorized curtain now on sale
The Xiaomi Mosquito Killer Lamp uses eco-friendly, non-toxic, non-hazardous and odor-free materials. The golden filament and the chips used in LEDs are produced by a Taiwanese company, this ensures an excellent quality with a possible life of 10,000 hours without interruptions.
The lamp can be set both as a light in fact, and as a killer of mosquitoes depending on your needs, you will decide. While the internal DC type motor manages to create a noise that does not disturb sleep but at the same time providing for the suction of mosquitoes.
Anti-mosquitoes can be lit in a room about two hours in advance to exterminate all insects. It is in fact preferable to let your work do before entering because the smell of man could cause mosquitoes to attack us and not the lamp, especially if it is overheated. Xiaomi suggests using a lamp in the dark and with the curtains closed, of course.
The Xiaomi Mosquito Killer Lamp is now on sale on the Xiaomi website for the price of 79 Yuan, around 10 euros.
Let's now move on to Aqara's motorized tent, another very interesting gadget for home automation enthusiasts.
The Aqara Smart Motorized Curtain B1 is different from other similar products previously presented by Xiaomi as it comes equipped with a lithium ion battery inside. This means that it can be used without needing to be connected to a light socket.
The battery carries an autonomy of 6 months with each full charge, this if the unit is used 4 times a day. The battery status is then shown in real time on the application so that it can be recharged before it runs out of power, and the device will beep and send a notification to the app when the charge is low.
The lithium battery imported from abroad is of excellent quality and with a capacity of 3030mAh, while the recharge chip was produced by the famous American company Texas Instruments. This also involves the presence of many short-circuit protection features and smarter battery management.
As for the smart side, the Aqara Smart Motorized Curtain B1 can be connected to the Xiaomi ecosystem, once done this it will be possible to control it through a Xiaomi AI speaker (with artificial intelligence) to close or open the curtains and set the opening speed and closing.
But it does not end here, always on the application it will be possible to see the percentage of opening and closing of the tent (for example tent open to 80%) and change between different modes: reading, landscape and more. Finally, it is possible to use other smart devices to control the motorized awning, like a button compatible with the ZigBee system and even to make the awning open or close automatically when the door is opened.
The Aqara Smart Motorized Curtain B1 is on sale in China on the official Xiaomi website for the price of 749 Yuan (97 €) if you only want the engine, 1249 Yuan (162 €) if you also want the auction and installation.
