On yesterday's day, we talked about some slides featuring the full features of the next Chinese flagship | Xiaomi Mi 5 Complete Specifications Available |, which partially respected what we knew about this device until now but, on the other hand, there were some features tending more to science fiction than reality. In fact, it was some members of the staff by Xiaomi to deny the veracity of these slides but did not specify exactly what is false, surely to increase even more audience expectations on this device.
Specifically, the specifications shown on the slides were:
- Full-HD display from 5.2 "inch
- Dual-SIM, Memory Expansion and NFC
- IR sensor
- 26 MP camera and f / 1.6 aperture with PDAF, optical stabilizer and laser focus
- USB Type C
- Snapdragon 820 with Quick Charge 3.0 support
- Battery pack from 3000 mAh
- 2 variants: 3 / 4 GB RAM and 32 / 64 GB internal memory and full metal body or rear glass and metallic side frame
On the variants, there is not much to doubt. Whether there are two or four there is not much difference; the memory cuts will certainly be those reported but what is clearly untrue is certainly the photographic sector. In the recent photos posted by the company's vice president, Hugo Barra | Xiaomi Mi 5 photo shoots at full resolution |, we pointed out that the pixel size of the main (un-retouched) photo was higher than that of a photo taken by a 13 MP sensor, so it is much more likely that the sensor is 16 SM (with OIS and laser focus) and not from 26 MP with f / 1.6 aperture. Another feature that does not fit into the company's canons, which he said he would never have entered in his flagships, is expandable memory, so we are very wary of it.
The rest of the specifications seem to be more truthful, especially if we compare them with the various leaks and official confirmations from the company itself; therefore there are likely to be some minor variations. We just have to wait less than a week and we will finally be able to find out everything about the Xiomi Mi 5.
