We have by now well understood that the trend of the future removes the foldable folding smartphones. Although they attract a lot from the aesthetic side and make your mouth water, we know that the technology is not yet mature and having them on the market right now would be suicide for the brand. Look for example at Samsung: its foldable is absolutely out of price and they are in front of all the problems they had to face and solve. However, this does not mean that a brand like Xiaomi not should continue to think about it and in fact, presented a new patent for a foldable. It changes from the others and has something that brings it closer to the Mi Mix Alpha.
Xiaomi doesn't stop with foldable and presents a new Mi Mix Alpha style patent
On Tuesday, another patent was entered on CNIPA Chinese (National Intellectual Property Administration) which would present a smartphone folding that closes in booklet but this time with three different sections between them e four cameras. We have emphasized that the sections are different because if you remember well the first device we have seen to be immortalized in a video, closed on itself thanks to two "wings" of the same size.
As you can see in the first image, closing the smartphone in this case does not allow symmetry as in the video that went crazy long ago. The choice is probably due to the fact that in this way the usable surface on the display, in the front of the device, is greater. We remember how the glass of the screen, surely supplied by Visionox, will be covered by a thin layer of plastic which will help protect it.
In the second image instead we see how the Xiaomi folding smartphone design is similar, in a sense, to that of the futuristic Mi Mix Alpha. What the concept phone has in common with this foldable is precisely theasymmetry of which we spoke earlier: the smaller part that is formed in the back at the time of closing, leads to form a section very similar to that in which the cameras of the Mi Mix Alpha are housed. And just about the cameras here we find a "simple" configuration with four post sensors, precisely, in the smaller reclosable part.
As noted by the site in source, the fact that a device is presented in a patent does not mean that it will necessarily see the light in the future. This could be the case of the Xiaomi foldable: in fact, thinking about it, there are so many patents presented that it would be impossible to do them all; it would also be impossible to insert them into a suitable market segment.
