Together with the xiaomi 15s pro, the brand also unveiled the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, its largest tablet ever, featuring a OLED display from 14 inch, top-of-the-range performance and a series of features designed for professional and multimedia use.

Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra

The device represents a significant evolution over its predecessors, the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro, which feature 11,2-inch IPS LCD panels. With the Pad 7 Ultra, Xiaomi takes the visual experience to the next level, thanks to a Ultra-bright 1.600 nits display, with DC + PWM dimming technology, support for 12-bit colors, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

To protect the screen we find the Gorilla Glass 5, with the option of a nano-texture version to reduce reflectivity. However, a less welcome novelty is the presence of a notch on the top of the display, which houses a 32MP front camera with OV32D sensor (1/3.6”), while on the back the Pad 7 Ultra is equipped with a 50MP camera with JN1 sensor (1/2.76”).

The tablet is powered by Xring O1 chipset, manufactured with the advanced second-generation 3nm N3E process, the same used in the Xiaomi 15S Pro. The CPU features ten cores, with two prime cores up to 3.7GHz, six Cortex-A725 cores and two Cortex-A520 cores for power saving. The GPU is a 925-core ARM Immortalis-G16, accompanied by a 6-core NPU, capable of offering 44 TOPS of AI processing.

Available in three memory configurations, the Pad 7 Ultra offers 12GB of LPDDR5T RAM paired with 256GB, 512GB or 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. The tablet’s body is made of aluminum alloy, with structural reinforcements to ensure rigidity. Although it is thinner than its siblings (5,1mm versus 6,2mm for the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro), it is heavier, with a total weight of 609 grams.

The autonomy of the device is guaranteed by a battery 12.000mAh, with support to the quick charge to 120W, ensuring reduced charging times. Connectivity is advanced, with Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC and even an IR emitter, useful for controlling home devices. Xiaomi has integrated a fingerprint reader into the side power button, while on the top we find a magnetic support for the optional stylus, which can be recharged directly on the device.

Il operating system is HyperOS 2, which ensures advanced integration with the Apple ecosystem, enabling compatibility with Office document formats and offering preinstalled productivity apps, including CAD and advanced file management software.

On the audio side, the Pad 7 Ultra is equipped with eight speakers, with 16.5cc resonance chambers and Dolby Atmos support, ensuring a premium sound experience. While for those looking for a more laptop-like experience, Xiaomi offers a Magnesium alloy keyboard, with oversized keys, 13 function keys and a pressure-sensitive touchpad, a first for Xiaomi tablets.

The tablet is available for pre-order through Xiaomi’s official website in China, with the base 12GB + 256GB model selling for 5700 yuan (about 700 euros). The 12GB + 512GB and 16GB + 1TB variants are also available in a “soft light” version, with a nano-texture panel to reduce reflections, with prices ranging from 6000 yuan (about 735 euros) to 7400 yuan (about 905 euros).

What can I say, with the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, the brand expands its tablet line, entering the premium segment with a device designed for productivity and entertainment. It remains to be seen whether Xiaomi will make it available globally and how it will stack up against competitors OnePlus and Red Magic, who continue to invest in high-performance mobile devices.
