Waiting for the official event on September 25th, Xiaomi continues to be talked about not only for the Xiaomi 17 series, but also for the imminent debut of the new Xiaomi pad 8, a tablet that will be positioned as the entry-level model in the revamped lineup. Thanks to a series of leaks and benchmarks, we already have a pretty clear picture of what to expect.
Xiaomi Pad 8: Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 and 3.2K display for the new tablet (LEAK)

According to a recent Geekbench listing, the Pad 8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, a chip built by Qualcomm on a 4nm process, paired with 12GB of RAM. Preliminary scores are 1.984 in single-core and 6.323 in multi-core, slightly lower than smartphones like POCO F7 or Nothing Phone (3) which mount the same chip, but completely normal for a device not yet optimized.
Visually, the leaked images reveal a flat design with thin bezels, consistent with Xiaomi's latest products. The display will be an 11,2-inch LCD with 3.2K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate, a configuration designed for those who consume multimedia content or play games on the go. Despite the 9.200mAh battery, the tablet remains just 5,75mm thick and weighs 485g, very similar to the Pad 8 Pro.
On the photography front, the Pad 8 is expected to feature a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front camera, while audio will be handled by four stereo speakers and four microphones, for an immersive experience both during playback and calls. The USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 port will ensure fast transfers and extensive compatibility.
The operating system will be HyperOS 3, optimized for the Xiaomi ecosystem and designed for greater fluidity in interaction between devices. The Pad 8 promises to be a more accessible solution than the Pro model, but without sacrificing advanced performance and features.
With its launch now just around the corner, the Xiaomi Pad 8 could prove to be one of the most interesting tablets in the mid-to-high range, perfect for those looking for power, portability and software integration at a competitive price.
