Xiaomi Pad Mini launched globally: 8,8” 3K display

Xiaomi has officially launched the new Xiaomi Pad Mini A compact tablet that aims to combine portability, performance, and artificial intelligence in an 8,8-inch format has arrived on global markets. The device, previously known in China as the Redmi K Pad, now boasts a refreshed identity and truly top-of-the-line specifications.

The Pad Mini features an 8,8-inch LCD display with 3K resolution (3008 × 1880), a 16:10 aspect ratio, and a pixel density of 403 ppi, offering above-average clarity. The panel supports a 165Hz refresh rate, 372Hz touch sampling, and 1080Hz instant touch, designed to ensure extreme responsiveness, especially for gaming. Maximum brightness reaches 700 nits, with support for HDR10, HDR Vivid, and Dolby Vision. It also boasts TÜV Rheinland eye protection certifications and a Wet Touch function, useful in humid conditions.

Under the hood, we find the powerful MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, built at 3nm, with Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU and NPU dedicated to AI functions. The centralized thermal dissipation system ensures stable performance even during prolonged sessions.

The operating system is Android 15 with HyperOS 2 interface, which integrates AI tools such as predictive text, voice recognition, translator, calculator, and art generator. It also features Google Gemini for creative activities and the Circle to Search function for quick on-screen searches.

On the photography front, the Pad Mini offers a 13MP rear camera with PDAF and 4K video recording, while the 8MP front camera is designed for video calls and selfies. Both support HDR and useful modes like portrait and document scanning.

The battery is 7.500mAh, with 67W fast charging that reaches 58% in 30 minutes. It also supports 18W reverse charging and guarantees up to 19 hours of reading, 15 hours of video, or 10 hours of MOBA gaming.

The tablet is available with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. It includes two USB-C ports, one with USB 3.2 Gen 1 and DisplayPort 1.4, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and dual Dolby Atmos speakers. The metal body measures 6,46mm thick, weighs 326g, and is available in Gray and Purple. It supports the Focus Pen and Pad Mini Cover.

The 12GB variant is priced at AED 1.599 (about €410) in the UAE, while the official case costs AED 49 (about €13). Global availability is expected in the coming weeks.
